If my information is correct, some years ago the ladies of Windlesham made a quilt with oak leaves and acorn motifs. It was featured in a magazine at that time and I had the cutting. I should be grateful if one of its makers would send me a picture and the story behind the quilt. I am a quilter myself and thought the block was beautiful even from the tiny cutting I had.

Hi, i am trying to find out if anyone has researched men and women of Virginia Water that were killed in the Second World War? I am researching aircraft crashes in Shropshire and one of the pilots that was killed was F/Lt Roy Harold Phillips (138663), RAFVR, aged 23. He was the Son of Harold Alexander and Marie Ethel Phillips, of Virginia Water, Surrey; husband of Marjorie Eileen Phillips. I am wondering if anyone can help with any further information on this pilot? Perhaps somebody has researched war time casualties? I would be very grateful for any help. Many thanks, Tom

I grew up in Addlestone and sadly left in 1965. It was a great place and I miss it all the time. I will finally be coming back for a visit next month. I am really looking forward to it. I hope I will be able to find my long lost childhood friend, Carol Brazil whom I have been trying to locate for over 30 years. If anyone knows where she is PLEASE e-mail me. Thanks

I was an apprentice with Vickers aircraft ltd and finished up working in the research dept. I came to Australia in 1959 and have remained here ever since. I worked in most departments during my apprenticeship, but really enjoyed my time in Barnes Wallis research dept. I spent a lot of time on the Swing Wing Swallow. Every day was was something new and exciting. I would like to hear from any of my old mates from those days.
